Project Manager

Project Manager - Berkshire - £350 - £450 per day - 6 months

My client, a large UK organisation in the Environmental/Government sector is in need for a talented and enthusiastic Project Manager to join them on an initial 6 month contract with a view to extend.

The role requires an individual with strong experience within project management and someone who has worked on a number of projects throughout their career. You will be required to manage the delivery of strategic projects whilst co-ordinating and supporting their successful implementation across the business. The key objective will be to ensure that the project is delivered effectively and efficiently in line with the client's requirements. The successful candidate may be asked to travel to other sites within the UK.

Key Accountabilities/Experience:

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including MS Project, MS Project Server, MS Powerpoint, Visio and SharePoint.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven record of delivering major projects using a structured methodology
Must have strong skills in PRINCE 2 or be certified or have an equivalent e.g. PMI, PMP, ISEB
A strong leader and team player.
The ability to understand complex issues quickly.
The ability to work with minimum supervision and to tight timescales.
The ability to be flexible and prioritise a competing and heavy workload.
The ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and be personable and presentable.
Excellent planning ability including management of internal and external dependencies in major Technology and Business Change projects.
Must have proven ability in managing project risk and issues.
Experience of working in Government and Public sector organisations (highly advantageous and Desirable).
