Context and Purpose
We have a new and exciting opportunity for a project manager to work within the industrial processing systems business unit. Utilising its proprietary technology, the business unit will develop, supply and service material processing systems into a wide range of high value and energy efficient industrial applications. The growth of the Business Unit is dependent upon the development of new and innovative High Power systems.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the business through successfully managing delivery these projects through customer requirements capture, facilitating system design and delivery of customer solutions. As the Project Manager you will act as a relationship manager between the different parts of the organisation, the customer, and other development project managers. Strong leadership is required to bring the key milestones together within a programme. Occasionally global travel will be required along with need to be present for customer conference calls during non-core work hours.

Main Accountabilities
- Achieve high performance on all facets of project delivery; operational and budgetary margins, triple constraints, including accurate forecasting and delivery against milestones
- Maintain effective and good working relationships with customers (internal and external) including project stakeholders to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded
- Undertake bid management through the initiation and planning phase of a project, ensuring that the project has a robust business case and strategic fit
- Using project management best practice and appropriate tools create realistic but challenging detailed project plans to ensure that project delivery, through execution is a success
- Continuously improve upon current project management disciplines, community development and best practices to help support better individual and BU project delivery
- Encourage and construct good working coherent relationships within teams, stakeholders and customers to promote project engagement and successful delivery against the project objectives
- Through effective leadership and motivation drive improvements in individual project delivery to provide faster times to markets for product developments.
- Manage project uncertainty through risk planning and issue management; establishing appropriate mitigations and contingency plans

Essential Experience
- Extensive Project Management experience of high value and critical dependent projects.
- Experience of managing projects through a product / system lifecycle.
- Experience of managing engineering, technical or science projects in challenging and ambiguous situations.
- Experience of managing high profile and demanding customers.
- Proficient in the use of Project Management / Resource Tools, such as MS Project and EPM
