Position Title: Project Manager

Duration: Contract- 12 months

Location: Birmingham, AL 35203

Our client is seeking a Project Manager for a 12 month contract in Birmingham, AL. The Project Manager will be assisting with several IT Security projects for our client. This role will manage the expectations, deliverables, and results of all project resources, both internal and external, as related to the specific roles and activities defined in the project workplan. The Project Manager will organize, plan, and direct all project work activities; communicate project status to all roles and levels of project stakeholders; and provide specific performance feedback to the respective resource managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead a project team to devise and maintain a workable scheme to accomplish the need that the project was undertaken to address.
- Collect and analyze project information to determine where the project stands and take corrective action to eliminate negative deviations from the plan.
- Identify, analyze, and respond to risks over the course of the project - including minimizing the consequences of adverse events and maximizing the results of positive events.
- M anage interactions between the customer, any appropriate external organizations, and the rest of the project team to achieve good customer relations where both parties are enthusiastic about the relationship.
- Demonstrate knowledge of general management practices including finance, accounting, strategic and tactical planning, organizational behavior, managing work relationships through motivation, delegation, supervision, conflict management, and managing personal responsibilities through personal time management and stress management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- BS or BBA in Information Technology related field preferred or have considerable work experience in the application of information technologies.
- 5-10 years project management experience or demonstrated project management skills - including project planning, project control, and risk management.
- Strong SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) experience.
- Working experience with Waterfall Methodology with demonstrated knowledge of IT project life cycle processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and especially Project.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
