Project Leader

We are looking for an Automotive Project Leader for our major automotive client.

This newly established role has the responsibility to manage production from project initiation through to delivering the final physical product. This will involve liaising with their own internal authors and illustrators and customer contacts to report into their programme status meetings.

The Project Leader has overall responsibility for the successful planning, production, monitoring, control and ultimately the delivery of the product.

Strong and clearly defined production and reporting processes will need to be implemented, supporting their long term strategies with the customer, characterised by a professional and proactive attitude.

This position will include an element of management capability in coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan and budget. The Project Leader will have a technical understanding of the project and define the project scope and oversee quality control of the deliverables throughout the automotive programmes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background within the automotive industry, including all aspects of process development and execution. You will preferably be qualified in PRINCE2 to practitioner level and have experience in running project teams as well as technical automotive knowledge. Although not a requirement, management experience may be an advantage in this role.

You will need to be an effective communicator with a drive to focus and push both yourself and others, when required, to get where we need to go. You need to feel comfortable discussing project status' with senior customer representatives and line managers on an operational and technical level where necessary. You need to be capable of building strong relationships with new and existing customers and are not afraid to escalate project issues when necessary. You will be expected to demonstrate an active approach and willingness to get involved in order to rectify issues where possible. You must also be capable of working in a pressurised environment and capable of delivering multiple projects to varying timelines.
