Project Financial Analyst-Project Controller Job

PROJECT FINANCIAL ANALYST-PROJECT CONTROLLER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in EMERYVILLE, CA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The incumbent will own project financial and resource reporting in the Project Management Group, from the definition of cross-functional processes to data collection, data summarization, and reporting of dashboards and KPIs across a portfolio of internal and partner development projects. This position will require leadership skills to align processes to business and stakeholder needs in a transitioning work environment
- Project Financials and Resource Planning & Reporting Earned Value Analysis and Management Project Cost Engineering (Management, Controls and Forecasting) and Estimating Financial Risk Assessment and Management
- Work directly with the Head of Project Management, the PMO Team, project teams and Company Diagnostic functions and the Finance department, for data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
- Identify business and project stakeholder needs to formally define, propose, develop, implement and maintain analysis processes and procedures for the areas mentioned above.
- Build monthly reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor portfolio performance.
- Support Project Leaders with recurring finance tasks, such as purchase orders, invoices, resource planning.
- Provide guidance and support for (annual) project budget development with Project Leads. Define and simplify processes in concordance with Grifols budgeting guidelines.
- Report on project controls and actuals vs. budget performance for R&D budget and collaboration budget with Hologic.
- Track resources across all functions to ensure they are utilized on projects, track utilization statistics, forecast their project schedules and coordinate with functional management and project managers on their availability.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BA/BS Degree is required. Finance or Business Degree is preferred. An additional four (4) years of experience can be substituted for a BA/BS Degree
- Prior experience with finance processes (budgets, POs, invoices, project actuals reporting) is required. Familiarity with SAP reporting is a plus.
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in Project financial and resource data reporting and/or financial analyst functions.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and high attention to detail including ability to review analyze and organize data to produce quality management reports.
- Solid experience in requirements gathering, facilitation and business value analysis.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- A self-starter who can effectively prioritize activities.
- Must have intermediate to advanced MS Project and MS Excel expertise using graphs and pivot tables.
