Project Engineer (Renewable/Civils)

PROJECT ENGINEER with a civil engineering background is required for a 12 month rolling contract with a leading energy organisation focusing on the construction of renewable projects in Scotland and the rest of the UK. Core focus will be given to Hydro projects so experience with construction of weirs, intakes, pipelines, Powerhouse, tailrace and tracks plus knowledge of hydro turbines and generators etc will be an asset.

Responsibilities will include:

. Project base will be Perth, Scotland.
. Working closely and report into the Construction Project Manager (CPM) on all aspects of construction including contracts, reports, meeting and paperwork.
. Provide support to the CPM and Resident Engineer (site based) and help deliver project milestones and targets.
. Manage the technical aspects of the project(s), particularly with the civil design interfaces including co-ordination of external parties.
. Manage the technical information exchange with the contractors in Tandem with the RE.
. Review technical information from contractors and report back to CPM.
. Provide general Project Management assistance.
. Work with and support when needed the other members of the project team.
. Attend meetings with the Contractors when needed either at the office in Perth or at site.

Project Engineer required skills:

. Project Engineer or relevant experience.
. Proven civil engineering background - design, installation & commissioning.
. Renewable energy sector experience including new build construction projects.
. Able to work without direct supervision and maintain good relations and communications with Project Management and other team members.
. Grid connection and HV equipment supply and installation is advantageous.
. Knowledge of NEC 3 contracts is a bonus.
. Ability to run progress meetings and liaise with all team members.
. Adhere to all company and standard HSE policies and help maintain these across projects.
. Ability to travel and visit sits when and where needed. PPE will be provided.
