Project Engineer / Module Lead - Aerospace x4 Roles

Project Engineer/Module lead: - Aerospace x4 roles.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the project engineer is the person responsible for capturing the projects technical requirements by liaising with the customer to understand the engine geometry that the tools are to be designed around and build method required.
Working in conjunction with and as a member of customer's IPT's (Integrated Project Teams) the project engineer will develop tooling solutions in support of customer requirements.
The supplier of design data and prescribed procedures to sub tier design partners.
The person responsible for ensuring that the delivered tools and their associated documentation are of the appropriate functionality and quality to support the customer's engine build process.
The Project Engineer will deputise for the Project Manager as required to support the overall project.
Responsibilities
Requirements capture
* Capturing the project requirements by directly interfacing with the customer and formulary recording requirements via technical specifications, sequence drawings of build operations, lists of tools, quotations and scope of work documents
* Establish the technical baseline by use of historical data from previous projects and the new engines developing architecture to deliver the required solutions.
Project execution
* The single point of contact for all technical issues on the project/package of work assigned.
* Design liaison between the customer, hydro management and the subtler design supplier
* The supply of all technical information to the sub tier design supplier to enable the end to end tool design task in compliance to the Company design manual and generic Client specifications.
* The supply of engine architecture and engine component data retrieved from customer systems (e.g. PLM), manipulating models, breaking down or building up engine component assemblies in order to present the data to subtler design supplier in the most useable format.
* Maintain register of tool to engine data used during tool design.
* Obtain Client / customer buy off where necessary during design.
* Escalate unresolved issues to the project manager and where necessary to the Client / customer technical lead, e.g. technical changes, late engine definition release, validation issues etc.
* Hydro signatory for design buy off at technical design reviews for all deliverables, models, manufacturing drawing and supporting technical documentation.
* Management of the Interface control process (ICDs) to ensure the latest engine data is being used to design the tools in an environment of concurrent engine and tool design.
* Operate change control process for all new requirements and changes to original agreed specification acquiring lead-time and cost commitment from the subtler design and manufacturing partners,
* Manage the release of preliminary models and drawing to the manufacturer to enable cost estimate and concurrent design and manufacture
* Manage the close out of manufacturing technical queries.
* Manage the first artical inspection failures and concessions process
* Manage the validation process for all tool deliveries and associated documentation on first use. Ensuring ABC's are raised and subsequently programme managing the rework of validation failures and the sign off of successful validations.
* Create sequence drawings and specifications for all tools. Maintain sequence drawings on a regular basis throughout the NPI and change control process
* Monitor all tool information against achievement of technical milestones using agreed KPI's.
* Maintain and update Hydro and customer databases on a regular basis with latest tool information.
* Assist the Client IPT lead in preparing material to support all technical gates, CAOps reviews and project reviews including the provision of relevant technical.
* Work in conjunction with the Company project manager to deliver the tooling package to the agreed quality and schedule.
