PROJECT ENGINEER - EXTERIOR MOULDINGS

JOB TITLE: Project Engineer - Exterior Mouldings

ROLE: Contract

LOCATION: West Midlands

An exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer - Exterior Mouldings has arisen with my client an, a prestigious and successful Automotive manufacturer. The Project Engineer - Exterior Mouldings will be responsible for leading the engineering and design of Exterior Mouldings (Bumpers, Sills, Splitters, Diffusers, and Spoilers).

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performance target setting and validation plan (in conjunction with Body Development, CAE
- Liaise with vehicle packaging to ensure complete vehicle integration;
- Create release data to support Engineering Release (CAD, drawings, data transmittal note);
- Manage concerns, containments and permanent corrective actions
- Lead FMA activities (DFMEA, QHR, DoE)
- Maintain relevant project documentation (FESO document, DFMEA, Detail Design Plan)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- Engineering degree (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Exterior Mouldings design, development and validation.
- Proven track record in design of Exterior Mouldings or similar components.
- Proficient in the use of Teamcentre/VisMockup to interrogate CAD designs and drawings.
- CAD literate (preferably Siemens NX).
- Intuitive knowledge of fundamental engineering theory. Organised and ability to deliver under pressure.
- Thorough, data-driven approach to solving engineering issues.
- Confident communicator - able to present at design reviews and technical forums.
- Full driving licence.
- Chartered Engineer with relevant engineering institution.
