Project Engineer (Design)

Are you looking for a new role with an expert in the Well Intervention field of the Oil and Gas Industry inAberdeen? I am looking for an experienced PROJECT ENGINEER with SUBSEA DESIGN experience as well as CLIENT INTERFACING skills for a permanent position on the lucrative subsea industry. My Client is a Subsea Consultancy finding specialist offshore well control and intervention solutions for their oil and gas clients around the world, specialising in designing and delivering unique well control and intervention technology. This is a varied role reporting to the Head of Projects. Candidates will have direct management responsibility for the design team allocated to their project; be responsible for the planning, co-ordination and expediting of project activities involving the design, manufacture, test and assembly of subsea equipment. Candidates will ideally have a design engineering background, be able to understand the client's requirements quickly with the ability to translate them into tasks for the engineering department and if necessary assist in writing test procedures or other relevant documentation when required to help keep projects on track. Candidates will have at least 3-5 years experience in a design engineering role for subsea pressure control or subsea well control equipment and at least 2 - 3 years in a client facing project management environment. Hands on production engineering experience in machining, fabrication, test and assembly would also be useful but is not essential. Minimum educational qualification desired is a BEng in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree. Candidates must be familiar with industry general practice for project management and have a good understanding of relevant API and ISO standards for subsea well and pressure control. Candidates must have strong IT skills with the ability to create, manipulate and update multiple MS Excel spreadsheets, MS Project schedules and MS Word documents easily and rapidly including full use of document formatting functions, conditional formatting, hyperlinks, cross references and filters. The role involves: The planning, co ordination and expediting of project activities involving· the design, manufacture, test and assembly of subsea equipment. Prioritising design deliverables with direct management responsibility for· the design team allocated to the project. Assisting the project co-ordinators in the selection of appropriate vendors· to manufacture and supply parts. The creation of project paperwork including schedules, vendor purchase· orders, work instructions and certification packages and will also require the management of the relevant Independent Verification Body for each project. The responsibility for delivery of projects he is assigned to on schedule· and on budget, maximising revenue generation opportunities. Does this sound like a role you could fulfil?
