A Renewable Energy Client is looking for a Project Engineer to focus on the Foundation & WTG Logistics and Installation within the Offshore Construction Unit. This role is to start ASAP on an initial 12 months' contract. This role would be reporting to Offshore Logistics and Installation Manager (Foundations and WTGs). This role will be supporting the mobilisation of one of the installation vessels and managing the contractor through the installation phase.

ROLE:

To become an integral member of the logistics/installation team and to provide support to the Offshore Logistics Manager in the delivery of the various engineering tasks required to secure the completion of the offshore installation scopes, specifically monopile foundations and WTGs, in respect to time, cost, safety, quality and interfaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage the technical input and interfaces from other packages affecting the installation scope (eg design, fabrication, pre-assembly etc.)
- Full technical and commercial project management of package scopes assigned, from concept to completion,
- Co-ordination and contractual development of scour, WTG and foundation logistic and installation concepts and scope,
- Preparation of economic and strategic analyses of options, proposing reasoned arguments for optimisation of logistical solutions, defining risks and proposing mitigation,
- Commercial and technical tendering process management, including specification of requirements, drafting of ITTs, tender evaluation and negotiation, drafting of contracts (to include BIMCO supply time charter, installation equipment rental, engineering and consultancy services, FIDIC based bespoke contracts etc.),
- Co-ordinate consulting and support services and equipment in conjunction with main installation vessels and in accordance with demanding schedule requirements,
- Technical design review, including risk assessments, method statements, lift plans and all needed operating instructions,
- Definition and co-ordination of necessary documentation for the certification and MWS process,
- Evaluation of vessel engineering development, including deck layouts, sea fastenings and guide line concepts,
- Evaluation and development of layouts of potential ports for storage and load out,
- Developing and improving logistical concepts alongside potential suppliers,
- Managing and steering of the installation scopes through the mobilisation and execution phases, including risk and budgetary management, reporting as required and production of all documentation to project close-out,
- Identification and co-ordination of internal and external interfaces including all potential stakeholders resolution of supplier technical queries etc.,
- Ensuring the quality of work during WTG installation and foundation fabrication and installation conforms to QA/QC and HSSE procedures,
- Working closely with Offshore Logistics Manager on the organization, co-ordination and management of the transport and installation planning of an Offshore Wind Farm.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- At least 3 years' experience, preferably in maritime industry, and/or offshore sector and/or wind energy
- Extensive experience of engineering project and/or construction management, including management of contractors and specialist consultants
- A strong knowledge of UK offshore project management and HSSE regulations, guidelines and standards
- Strong analytical skills and ability to present concepts clearly and concisely
- Relevant experiences in WTG and foundation storage/sea fastening, load in/out, transportation, offshore installation and upending procedures
- Experienced in offshore piling and scour protection
- knowledge of all special tools and lifting and transport devices
- Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to establish effective cross functional and cross cultural working relationships
- IT literate, as a minimum- MS Word, MS Excel, databases etc. (preferred also P6 capabilities)
- Qualification in a relevant engineering field such as Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture, preferably to degree level, or Master Mariner.
