My client seeking a proven Project Engineer/Manager with strong leadership, commercial and entrepreneurial skills who is able to execute multidiscipline projects with the highest levels of integrity. Reporting directly to the Head of Projects, the successful individual will be a self-motivated, self-sufficient individual with the ability to forge excellent working relationships with colleagues, peers and key stakeholders across the business and our clients.

An innate understanding of project management with a demonstrable core understanding of the customers in today's tough trading climate is essential. This role is borne out of the requirement to have an individual who can control the activities of other Project Engineers/Project Managers gaining the necessary experience to be positioned as a potential successor to the Head of Projects.

Able to lead motivate and develop a team of engineers.
Clear capability to manage complex issues and deliver results.
Exceptional ability to build client and other stakeholder relationships and influence at all levels.
Commercially focused with strong negotiation skills.
Articulate with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ensure that the project team maintain a safe place of work and working environment on clients' sites.
Achievement of project objectives which include functionality, cost and schedule for projects ranging from £1M to £20M.
Develop thorough and detailed project execution plans which define scope, schedules, estimates, design deliverables, and procurement plans.
Think strategically to mitigate risks, solve problems and increase value.
Coordinate all project activities between internal process design team, design houses, and contractors.
Ensure Change Management process excellence affording cost and schedule control.
Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and technical standards.
Participate in the review of project scope to ensure completeness of the basic engineering and contribute to the assessment of opportunities for added value through application of Value Improving Practices.
Work closely with the commercial management team to provide detailed and transparent cost reports, forecasts to complete, quality and SHE reports on a monthly basis

The Ideal candidate will possess .

An engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering (preferably Chartered)
4-5 years' experience managing multi discipline projects.
Project Management leadership experience in the Process Industries.
Proven successful track record of executing capital projects from £0.5M to £20M.
In depth knowledge of project management processes and project execution best practices including utilisation of stage gate process approaches.
Direct experience of managing the delivery of an EPC/EPCM contract preferably in the UK.
Excellent understanding of UK Health and Safety and Construction Design and Management regulations.
