Project Engineer

My Automotive client is offering fantastic contract opportunities to a multi-skilled Project Engineer for their fast-paced Powertrain division.

Successful applicants will be responsible for management and delivery of engine/powertrain prototype builds to support various technology projects. You will be the key interface between the engine & powertrain research teams and the prototype vehicle build teams and system development teams, ensuring the program is delivered on time to the appropriate quality standards and feeding back the results to the management team. You will also be offering support to other project delivery engineers to assist with various project management activities.

Skills/Experience Required:

Strong engineering background
An understanding of Product Development processes
Working knowledge of engine, powertrain systems and powertrain controls/calibration.
Knowledge of vehicle systems would be beneficial.
Good understanding of powertrain/engine component design and manufacturing methods
Awareness of manufacturing processes associated with engine/powertrain components & assembly.
The ability to lead the resolution of technical, business and process issues within a team environment.
Good communication, interpersonal skills and self confidence.
Being self motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.
Excellent team working skills
Good analytical & PC skills ie Excel, Word and Project

Applicants will need to have a disciplined approach to planning, prioritisation and record keeping as well as a valid driving license for use in the UK.
