Project Engineer

Huxley Associates is recruiting for an experienced Baggage Project Engineer. The successful candidate will lead a baggage integration project for a new baggage facility at GatwickAirport. The position is available on an initial 12 month contract and rates will be considered on a case by case basis depending on your experience. As Project Engineer you will be part of a team of competent colleagues with the primary task to provide first class design and project implementation of Airport Baggage Handling Systems. To be considered for the position you must be: Familiar with the Electrical elements of complex, integrated Automation Systems e.g. in the Manufacturing or Distribution Industry. Preferably you are familiar with Airport baggage handling systems. Fully conversant with E-Plan software. An effective communicator with the ability to work within a team environment. Tasks: * Functional and Detailed Specification of electrical, control and network components for baggage handling equipment, such as Power Bus, Profi-Bus, ASi-Bus, E-Stop systems, Panels, Control Cabinets. * Definition of power and e-stop zones. * Preparation of electrical load calculations. * Preparation of component list and cable schedules. * Preparation and review of Electrical Schematics. * Design for manufacturing and assembly (DfMA) in accordance with customer requirements. * Tracking of the customer requirements. * Co-ordination of the Electrical and Mechanical project scope with the Mechanical Engineering Department. * Value engineering on existing designs that may improve both cost and delivery schedule. * Incorporation of safety aspects in the designs related to function and operation. * Preparation of specifications for cost estimates. * Prepare Factory and Site Acceptance test documentation and lead the test execution. * Prepare Installation Work Packages and provide input and advice to the installation team during the implementation of the project on-site. * Supervision of Electrical Installation and Site Testing. * Preparation of as-built documentation. Profile: You have a recognised qualification and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role. You hold a fullUKdriving license.
