Project Engineer

DATS have an excellent opportunity to join the existing team of a large oil & gas company working on engineering projects in Aberdeen on a contract basis.

Duties
* Focal point for interface with Independent Verification Body and the client
* Ensure all Comment Response Sheets are answered in a timely manner with appropriate level of detail and clarity for review.
* Ensure all anomaly reports are answered in a timely manner with appropriate level of detail and clarity for review.
* Liaise with discipline engineers and client verification focal point to define which documentation will be submitted to verifier
* Regular contact with engineering disciplines and management team for proactive identification and advice of project change
* Advise verifier of test / inspection events taking place at vendors and fabricators
* Oversee reporting and expediting activities of verification coordinator.

Background & Experience
* Good understanding of project engineering techniques and standards. Good knowledge of verification and how the contractor engages with client / Verification Body.
* Be able to report accurate status of verification activity in terms of documents issue for review by work package and status on verification queries.
* Experience interfacing with verification bodies - either by working for IVB in project role or working for client / contractor.
* Good team player who can liaise with all disciplines and departments.
* Be willing to push for action in terms of delivering documentation to the verification body and progress closure of Comment Response Sheets.
* Requirement to engage heavily with IVB, client as well as technical safety.
