Project Engineer

The qualified candidate for this position will provide support in developing, managing, and executing a wide variety of engineering projects. The Project Engineer will interact with The Company's Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Regulatory, and Process Development personnel as well as process and equipment design engineering consultants, equipment vendors, and CMO Engineering and Production personnel. This position will also be responsible for tracking and reporting on Capital equipment project status for all assigned projects. In addition, this position will involve generating justifications, developing design requirements (Scope of Work), for productivity improvements and process optimization projects and assessing the effectiveness of capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities:

* Capital project planning, scheduling, tracking and cost management
* Developing justification, scope of work and submitting engineering projects for approval
* Defining project work scope, developing preliminary design documentation, authoring or reviewing Requests for Quotation
* Identifying and communicating with qualified vendors, evaluating and recommending vendor proposals
* Preparing status reports and presentations and leading meetings involving engineering projects
* Working with The Company, CMO and vendor personnel to supervise construction and commissioning of engineering projects as required.
* Utilization of external engineering consultants as needed to supplement The Company capabilities, particularly in the area of detailed design
* Project close-out and performance assessment
* Providing process and/or engineering expertise to assist in process improvement

Requirements:

* Process and goal oriented
* Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
* Comfortable with database software and information management
* Familiar with Delta-V controls
* Familiar with OSI-PI software
* Familiar with DCS/PLC software and automated control systems
* Travel toMexicoCity CMO 25%
* Ability to speak Spanish a plus

Education/ Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering with 3-5 years of experience implementing a wide variety of engineering projects. Professional Engineering license preferred.
* Experience with biological manufacturing processes and process equipment
