Project Engineer

Client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for 2 Project Engineers for a long term contract assignment in Newark, DE. You need a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and 4-10+ years of project engineering or design experience related to protection & control systems and/or the physical layout for high voltage substation engineering & construction projects. Looking for candidates local to Newark, DE but will also consider candidates near DC and NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Act as primary Company interface with multiple Architect-Engineering firms for substation projects that are outsourced
- Approve licensing & construction packages to assure all engineering standards, construction standards & safety codes are met
- Develop detailed project scoping documents, project estimates and schedule for major capital projects
- Lead & manage electrical layout & controls engineering and design portion of major substation capital projects (69 kV - 500 kV) from inception to successful completion (within scope, schedule & budget)
- Developing optimum electrical layout considering all aspect of equipment details, removing equipment in and out of the station
- Perform engineering calculations such as Bus Sizing, Bus Support Span, Light & Power Transformer and 440/208 Volts Switchgear, Battery Sizing, Lightning Protection Calculations, & Grounding Grid Design
- Perform electrical engineering calculations for substation ground grid design, station battery sizing, lightning protection, voltage drop, insulation coordination, short circuit currents, sl&p, etc

REQUIREMENTS

- 5-10+ years of project engineering or design experience supporting protection & control systems and/or the physical layout substation engineering & construction projects
- Need experience as a Lead Electrical Engineer or a Project Engineer on substation EPC projects
- Must have experience in developing detailed project scoping documents and project estimate and schedule for major capital projects
- BS in Electrical Engineering...a PE license is a PLUS
- Familiar with station controls and protective relays schemes and application
- Fully familiar with applicable IEEE and NESC standards
- Must possess a working knowledge of protective relay schemes & applications, SCADA, metering, A.C & D.C power and controls, alarms, and equipment monitoring systems
