Project Engineer

Leading engineering and technology firm has an immediate need for a contract Project Engineer for an 8-12 month project for the client in the Knoxville, TN area. Heavy industrial equipment and/or steel mill experience preferred. Per diem and expenses paid are available to a non-local candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Review total project scope and ensure all requirements for successful completion of project are included
- Ensure that Project financial goals are being met thru Proper and timely invoicing and development and submittal of Change Orders
- Work with equipment vendors/suppliers and coordinate and provide installation drawings (millwright package)
- Interact with the Project Manager, client, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are being met and on schedule
- Supervise the design of steel mill

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering in a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience working as a Project Engineer in the Heavy Industrial Equipment or Steel Mill industries
- Experience using Microstation
- Experience with large equipment associated with the steel industry
- Experience with steel producing equipment such as spindles, chocks, mandrels
- Ability to read and understand P&IDs, PFDs, Plans and Drawings, Technical specifications, Vendor quotes, Contracts and RFP/RFQ documents, Schedules, Cost and Performance reports
- Project management and organizational skills
- Ability to travel 60% (Pennsylvania and Alabama mostly)
