This is a 12 month contract opportunity.Overview

In this Project Delivery Manager (PDM) role, you will report to the Manager of the IT PMO. As a PDM, your primary responsibility is to provide direct oversight and guidance to IT Project and Program Managers so as to ensure quality and management of risk in IT project delivery. This includes ensuring that activities are executed consistently across teams in accordance with the IS Project Lifecycle and industry standards. Role and Responsibilities

This PDM would be responsible for a couple of portfolio areas (to be determined) and some of the daily duties could include the following: - Provide direct oversight and guidance to Program and Project Managers including day to day management, direction, and escalation support
- Ensure quality and manages risk in how projects are delivered
- Promote understanding of and adherence to the IS Project Lifecycle and PMO methodology, processes and best practices, including Risk Management
- Support IT Group Leads in the planning, management, and execution of their project portfolios
- Work with IT Group Leads to determine project management requirements for upcoming work and matches project manager capability with project complexity
- Ensure project manager resource optimization
- Liaise with vendors on project manager new hires, renewals and terminations
- Provide facilitation for project related activities (eg Lookbacks)
- Identify and help to drive the roadmap for ongoing PMO transformational and continuous improvement initiatives
- Leverage and share lessons learned to improve project delivery

Qualifications

Required Skills: - 10+ years of experience leading teams in project delivery
- 2+ years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry
- Formal training and/or designation related to Project Management (ie PMP) as well as comprehensive knowledge of project delivery principles and methodologies (including associated financial requirements)
- Diploma/Degree in a related discipline
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
- Adaptability and flexibility to handle multiple planned and unplanned activities, as well as competing priorities
- Be capable of motivating and managing a team of resources with varying skillsets under limited supervision
- Advance knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and MS Project
- Working knowledge of document management tools
