Project Contract Manager

Our client currently requires an experienced Project Contract Manager on a fixed term contract (3 years) for their rail project based in the Midlands.

The purpose of the role is to provide contract management of one or several projects from contract award up to the final acceptance of the work and final account.

Experience/skills required

* Experience of projects dealing with design and build work (PFI) with heavy contract documents and multi-party situation
* Extensive claims knowledge and recent legal expertise

Responsibilities

* Prepare Contract Summary and ensure it is widely communicated and regularly updated
* Monitor works towards contract obligations , check schedule and all milestones compliance
* Establish and implement project specific commercial procedures , particularly regarding correspondences notifications, insurances, variation requests/orders and claims preparation files.
* Develop a pragmatic commercial approach based on contractual analysis of the project , to protect on a daily basis interest towards customer, partners and sourcing, suppliers/subcontractors
* Prepare and manage all elements and materials of negotiation of claims and counterclaims
* Anticipate events and risks, propose various counter-strategies and commercial solutions to keep the situation under control
* Monitor customer/partners requests to detect variation/change orders to be proposed
