Project Analyst Job

PROJECT MANAGER/ANALYST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in NORRISTOWN, PA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Work on several projects simultaneously, each varying in size and complexity, involving one or many managers, cross-functional teams, costing $20K to $20M, with durations of two (2) months to two (2+) plus years
- Work closely with Project Manager, a subject matter expert (SME) in the impacted business unit, yet not a formally trained Project manager. As a pair, you both will oversee the entire project life cycle
- Your focus will be on the MS Project Server (2007) project schedule, which is a model of the project budget and resource needs
- MS Project schedule is reviewed by management monthly, in two ways: independently as a unique project, and as it exists within the division's capital portfolio, which is part of the larger enterprise annual capital budget
- Assist PM with general project coordination, scope and business case development, capital/expense evaluation, decisions that impact project financials, reports that feed management's evaluation and prioritization, monthly status reports and project close out processes
- Assist in the divisional and enterprise level quarterly reviews of the project status with a heavy emphasis on priority, budget and financial performance
- Build successful relationships with PMs to increase probability of project success
- Interface closely with one or more Project Managers to develop and update cost and resource loaded project plans on MS Project Server for both new and 'in-flight' (current) projects
- Help PM align project business justification and scope with corporate compliance, goals, general ledger account descriptions, cost categories, and financial rules
- Develop ad-hoc reports containing specialized resource, financial, and regulatory information
- Continually update project financial model, resource needs, work breakdown structure (WBS), project deliverables and milestones
- Help PM perform monthly analysis of actual project cost information using ERP system (SAP), and update the estimated project cash flow over time in MS Project Server
- Ensure project plan, and funding change request control documentation is timely and accurate (capital funding change requests are subject to audit)
- Ensure project close out steps are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist IT Portfolio Management team with periodic tools and process improvements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Four (4) year college degree in finance, engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field.
- Five (5) plus years creating and updating project plans using MS Project, Primavera, PlanView, (or other project planning software tool) including resource and cost loaded tasks, multi-level WBS, dependencies and constraints
- Advanced skills with MS Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF, COUNT, sort and filter, charts, graphs, and print formatting
- Experience developing a work breakdown structure (WBS)
- Experience developing time and effort/cost-based work estimates for project plans/schedules
- Experience managing projects and developing plans with 3rd parties
- Experience with corporate ERP systems (SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle) that contain project accounting and financials
- Exposure to relational databases beyond capabilities of spreadsheets
- Courage and political savvy to clarify and interpret data that enable more accurate decision making
- Ability to mentor, assist, and train others with less experience on project management tools and processes
