Project Accountant - Utilities/Construction

A Project Accounting is requires to provide support a Capital Delivery programme for a large utilities client.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work with Project Managers to ensure that project cost projections are at all times thorough and fully considered.
* Interrogate costs at month end and ensure costs are correctly reported.
* Undertake audits where required including analysing of monthly cost reports.
* Liaise with site teams to prepare and analyse the year end and estimated costs at completion forecasts.
* Preparation and submission of cost accruals into SAP finance system with auditable supporting information.
* Trend analysis.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Construction related experience is essential.
* Recognised accountancy qualification - ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
* The ability to engage effectively with non finance stakeholders is absolutely key for this role - to be able to challenge engineers constructively with a balanced and solution driven approach.
* Experience of working in a project accounting environment and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously essential.
* Experience of operating financial systems - ideally SAP.
* Experience of dealing with project risks and cost challenges associated with a target cost environment.
