Project Accountant - 12 Month Contract - January Start

A new exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced Finance Project Accountant to work for a large utilities client based in Stokenchurch, Buckinghamshire. This is for a 12 month contract initially working full time hours, with occasional travel to Hinkley and Warwick.

Start Date: January 2014
Interview Dates: Mid January 2014

The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be good at building relationships as they will have to influence senior managers within the business. They will also be confident when explaining finance process to 'non finance' colleagues. There will be travel to both Warwick and Hinkley sites as needed.

Experience/Skills required:
-Financial Project Accounting experience
-SAP/Finance operating systems
-Compliance
-Regulatory
-Forecasting and tracking project expenditure
-MI reporting
-Analysis of project risk
-Cost management
-Able to explain Finance terms and processes to the non finance team
-Stakeholder management and influential skills

Desirable
-Finance qualifications advantageous
- CIMA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent

The role:
*Operating financial systems preferably SAP
*Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with experience of tracking and forecasting project expenditure.
*Providing detailed MI and dealing with project risks and cost challenge within a contract environment
*Awareness of financial implications related to business risk and awareness of regulation would be advantageous.
*Preparation of Final Account documentation and to undertake trend analysis
*Work with Project Managers to prepare and analyse the year end and estimated costs at completion forecasts
*Preparation and reconciliation of documents required for monthly finance reviews
