Project Accountant

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT, ideally fully qualified, required for INITIAL 9 MONTH CONTRACT with PUBLIC SECTOR organisation in EDINBURGH.

The client is looking for someone with significant highly specialised knowledge and experience as they will be required to work across a range of different fields including Finance, IT, Medical careers, HR, Equalities, FOI.

The post has responsibility for the management of reporting outcomes on highly complex, highly sensitive and often highly contentious issues with diverse and very senior stakeholders, including representatives from various areas of the company when judgements have to be made where there are a number of complicated options.

The post holder will be expected to solve complex problems requiring the application of analytical skills and the ability to apply logic to researched knowledge and assist in the development and achievement of the strategic aims of the company.

Duties will include:

- Analysis and reporting of information that will directly determine the level and distribution of the training budgets
- Responsible for the planning, design, management and development of complex information systems and new Management Information, Reporting and Forecasting system
- Providing highly complex analysis information (financial and non financial) in relation to projects which have a significant impact on the organisation
- Take the lead role on the financial aspects of projects, including highly complex financial modelling and service change issues where precedent exists, coping with incomplete information/making judgements about robustness of information and drawing meaningful conclusions for management.

REQUIREMENTS ARE A DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT, POSSESS A CCAB ACCOUNTANCY QUALIFICATION, OR BE PART QUALIFIED WITH SIGNIFICANT RELEVANT PUBLIC SECTOR MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE.
