Progress Developer

My client is urgently seeking an experienced Progress Developer for an initial 6 month contract. This role is located in Sydney's Inner West location close to public transport and onsite parking.

AS A PROGRESS DEVELOPER YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:

- Provide software engineering services for mission critical company products/services
- Making changes documented and agreed with stakeholders
- Programming using the company development tools and technology stack - Progress OpenEdge GUI with .Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WebServices - SOAP, XML a plus
- Provide programming support to improve internal software development tools and systems
- Ad-hoc development of internal development systems to support the development group's operations
- Ongoing support of developed systems

REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to work under pressure, demonstrate initiative and prioritise work
- Ability to work within time constraints and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn and master a broad range of development technologies
- At least 5 years experience developing using PROGRESS
- At least 2 years experience with OpenEdge GUI
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team environment
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Software development preferred)
- Desktop/User Interface programming in Progress OpenEdge GUI with .NET C# or Visual Basic a plus!
