Progress 4GL Developer

Our client, one of the worlds largest services organisations working with the most prestigious clients across a range of industries including Banking & Finance, Telecommunication, Government sectors and Retails.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will encompass the following activities at various stages of the project life cycle:

- Designs, develops and supports application solutions with skill set Progress, Linux to meet client requirements. They may design, develop and/or re-engineer highly complex application components, and integrate software packages, programs and reusable objects residing on multiple platforms.
- Prepare Detailed Design, Functional Specifications, Test plans, Implementation plans and other Software Engineering Life Cycle deliverables for projects
- Application maintenance and support the application including basic understanding of incident management/problem management
- Develop and unit test programs using consistent development methodology's and standards based on program specifications to agreed schedules and high quality

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

- Proven programming skills in Progress 4GL (minimum 5 years)
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Good understanding of systems design and development methodology's
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Team player and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Work well under pressure, and can multitask

DESIRABLE:

- Banking Domain Experience.
