University Information Technology (UIT) provides leadership in information technology direction, planning, policy development and integrated service delivery for York. In partnership with other University IT. groups and external providers, UIT provides integrated information technology services, solutions and support that enable all members of the York community in furthering the University's and their own academic, research and administrative goals.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A LIMITED TERM CONTRACT TO OCTOBER 31, 2016.

The incumbent provides the first line of technical support for one of York's enterprise application systems which support the administrative units such as PeopleSoft HCM and Financials, IBM Maximo and/or the Alumni/Fundraising System under the guidance of senior technical staff. This includes translating the requirements into technical specifications, participating in the development, design, and modification and maintenance of application software; ensuring that the systems are available and functioning efficiently; troubleshooting production problems; providing technical support to users.

Education:
University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline OR a related Community College Diploma and 2 year of related experience in addition to the minimum years required listed below.

Experience:
1-2 years' experience in Information Systems Technology.

REQUIRED:
Experience with reporting tools (eg BIRT, XML Publisher, Cognos, Crystal Reports); Experience in a Client Server environment, and experience with object-oriented development environments; Experience writing and executing SQL statements; Working knowledge of Oracle database environments; Knowledge of source control tools (eg CVS, SVN).

PREFERRED:
Experience with PeopleSoft, Maximo or Advance applications; Experience using PeopleSoft development tools (Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine); Experience with PL/SQL using Oracle 10 or higher on Unix environments; Working knowledge of Visual Studio.NET, JavaScript, CSS, XML; Knowledge in the areas of Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Facilities Management and/or Fundraising; Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of programming languages and environments utilizing structured techniques; systems analysis and design; relational databases; principles and techniques of programming; software development life cycle (SDLC). Ability to create, modify, integrate and deploy software to solve problems and enable new functionality; update modify, test and repair existing software to ensure continued service availability; identify, test and monitor how problems affect system functionality and performance; contribute towards recommendations for departmental policies and procedures.
