Position Duties:
*Develops, documents, implements, configures and maintains Scripting solutions as required to support the system administration application functions.
*Monitors software performance and resolves system problems in close co-operation with the system administrator(s) to ensure that applications and databases remain operational and keeps the users appropriately informed on the system status.
*Installs, integrates, configures and adapts system software as directed.
*Manages internal application databases, including access to supporting applications
*Assists in configuration control and IT Software and Hardware Asset Tracking systems for internally supported systems using NPC corporate toolset.
*Assists in the integration of new application elements into the assigned systems.
*Supports the development and maintenance of local backup and recovery plans and procedures for supported application and databases.
*Liaises with the Customer Service Desk (CSD) and provides second-line support as required.
*Liaises with the Support Teams in The Hague to provide third-line support as required for remote hosted systems.
*Provides expert support and technical advice to internal customers.
*Monitors the work of external consultants at working level.
*Receives COTS application software from the vendor and non-COTS application software from the Software- or Data- Engineering Section.
*Supports installation, update, integration and configuring (COTS and non-COTS) application software based on requirements as directed.
*Develops scripts and glue-ware to configure, link and interface application software.
*Administers, operate and maintains the application software including respective data base repositories.
*Supports configuration control and IT Asset Tracking on the application software used on internal support systems.
*Performs second line of support related to the application software used on internal support systems.

Qualifications/experience:
*Knowledge of and experience in administering a Unix (Solaris) operating system
*Knowledge of and experience in administering an MS-Windows operating system.
*Experience in Scripting languages and operating system adaptation.
*Experience with application installation, integration and administration.
*Knowledge of Oracle and MS SQL database administration and application development.
*Experience in using, configuring and administrating Computer Associates toolsuite (SDM, UAPM, ITCM)
