Projektbeschreibung

Job purpose
To manage the delivery of a programme of integrated, multi media communications campaigns to meet agreed service outcomes, working with other members of the Campaigns team and specialists across the Communications & Strategy team

2. Main responsibilities
(i) Contribute to the development of an annual programme of audience-led, multi-media communications campaigns that support the delivery of the council's priorities
(ii) Lead on the delivery of a personal portfolio of communications campaigns, to meet agreed objectives and targets
(iii) Ensure effective delivery of individual campaign activities and targets, working with officers in the campaigns, media & digital, research & customer insight and creative teams
(iv) Commission, brief, manage and evaluate the work of design contractors, illustrators, copywriters, media agents, photographers etc., in line with council protocols (including the corporate identity guidelines).
(v) Provide advice to senior council officers, senior members, client departments and contractors on a range of campaign communications issues, attending committees and other meetings when required (sometimes out of office hours).
(vi) Develop and maintain productive relationships with external organisations such as partners, contractors, professional bodies, voluntary sector, media and local and national government bodies in order to augment council communications
(vii) Where required provide project support for the council's external communications clients (this may involve attending meetings at client premises)
(viii) Implement the council's brand guidelines, and enforce guidelines when necessary

3. Supervision
The postholder reports to the Campaigns Managers who will programme work and agree priorities to be met autonomously or collaboratively. He/she will work to standards, policies and procedures set by the Director of Communications & Strategy.

The postholder will work collaboratively with the Senior Campaigns Officer, other Campaigns Officers, Campaigns Executives and other members of the Communications & Strategy team.

Once projects are commissioned the Campaigns Officer is expected to develop a brief and devise, implement, manage and review them, working with other members of the Campaigns team and officers across the Communications & Strategy team.

The Campaigns Officer will also work closely or provide advice to senior managers and councillors across the council, and to do so without close >supervision

While working to the team's overall work programme, the Campaigns Officer has authority to develop new approaches and campaign themes, and to implement these after sign off from the Campaigns Managers.

4. Contacts
The postholder will be in regular contact with chief officers, senior managers, cabinet members and lead members on a daily basis. They will also be dealing directly with senior figures in external agencies including the media.

5. Financial accountability/influence
Likely to be around £10k maximum for specific projects. When contracts are involved the post-holder will be responsible for their specs, letting, management and producing reports for DCB when needed.

6. Person Specification
(i) Education
Ø Educated to degree level or equivalent
Ø Related professional qualification desirable eg CIPR, CIM

(ii) Experience
Ø 2-3 years general experience of working in a relevant public relations or marketing role
Ø Strong evidence of designing and delivering effective communications campaigns that have integrated media, marketing, digital, design, research and internal comms activities and have delivered on objectives
Ø Considerable and demonstrable experience of working with minimum supervision, project management, dealing with senior contacts and leading a team of professional to deliver campaigns objectives.
Ø Demonstrable experience in generating new and creative ideas
Ø Experience or understanding of public sector communications needs is essential
