PROGRAMME MANAGER/SECURITY CLEARED/LONDON/£550 PER DAY

LONDON BASED CLIENT REQUIRES AN EXPERIENCED PROGRAMME MANAGER - SECURITY CLEARED

Experienced in implementing planning and scheduling standards, processes, tools and techniques across a wide range of projects and programmes (essential)

Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people across the organisation and outside Analyse complex data (quantitative and qualitative), draw conclusions, and produce solutions (essential)

Build effective working relations with people across the organisation and outside

Work under pressure in a fast paced environment and manage conflicting priorities to achieve tight deadlines

Implement project planning and scheduling tools across multiple projects and programmes (essential)

Proven record of taking personal responsibility and accountability for implementing planning and scheduling standards, tools, techniques and processes to ensure delivery of major projects in a large, complex organisation (essential)

Experienced user of MS Project (essential)

Additional qualifications required for this role

Degree educated
A planning/scheduling qualification
A project/programme management qualification

MAIN DUTIES:

- Working closely with colleagues who are planning and tracking progress of the Programme to ensure an up to date picture is maintained.
- Ensuring that actions are progressed and highlighting areas where insufficient information is likely to cause a problem.
- Pro-actively identifying likely problems which may hinder delivery and suggesting solutions to the Programme management.
- Ensure that the Programme risk register is updated on a regular basis and that the information captured is up to date and can be reported on in an efficient manner.
- Design and creation of highlightminutes and presentation slides).
- Management of the product management and risk management processes.
- Ensure that there is robust adherence to PPM processes including planning; risk management; dependency management and change control.
- Management of the change control procedure.

KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLES:

- The Programme Scheduler will be accountable for managing the implementation of consistent and effective planning and scheduling tools and techniques, processes and standards across the Rail Investment Strategy (RIS) Programme, in line with DfT and industry best practice.
- The role holder will be responsible for provision of timely and high quality information, reporting, guidance and specialist advice on planning and scheduling across all RIS projects and programmes. The role will work with the RIS Programme Manager.
- This will involve taking accountability for the effectiveness of planning and scheduling processes within the RIS Programme Office and identifying clear action plans to build planning and scheduling capabilities within Rail Executive through targeted initiatives
- The role holder will compose, maintain and update schedules for all projects and programmes within the government's Rail Investment Strategy for Control Period 5.
- They will provide develop and regularly provide reports and analysis on progress against baselines.
