PROGRAM MANAGER WITH TELECOM BACKGROUND

For our client a major Scandinavian Telecom Operator we are looking for a Program Manager/Senior Project Manager. The candidate must have strong experience with executing large complex projects with several deliveries/sub-projects. It is important that the candidate has experience from projects of major strategic importance and the pressure derived from this.

Our client has a number of projects and activities in the Business Support Systems area with the objective to consolidate all channel and integration platforms to a common stack for the six business units/countries. These projects are currently governed by a program.

The total program budget is substantial. The program is expected to end 2014, and will be closed when all business units in scope are migrated to the common platform, business benefits are realized through decommissioning of Legacy systems, and business processes are common and efficient. The business benefit realization is a core objective and responsibility of the program.

PROGRAM

The Program Manager will manage a program that consists of several dimensions:

The Program is needed to secure program strategy and plan, and line processes ie Release Management, Development, Configuration Management, Project Interdependencies, Stakeholder one per Business Unit.
- Each Roll Out project is run by a local project manager, with the following main responsibilities
- Adaptation (securing gaps) of the channel platform projects
- Local implementation/adaptation of the NEO order and integration platform
- Local release planning
- Securing needed System Test and Acceptance Test environments
- User Acceptance Testing
- Go-live planning and execution
- Decommissioning of Legacy platforms
- Platform projects; the three main channel platforms have been built in a first version supporting B2C (Common Self Service, Falcon Web shop, and Tango Customer Care tool). In order to secure B2B, pre-paid and other potential segments, new projects are being formed with a segment focus, securing eg B2B support through all channels.
- The Platform projects main responsibilities are
- Scope management
- Securing commonly agreed requirements and business processes
- User story/story point evaluation as a basis for cost and budgeting
- Project planning, budgeting, resource management
- End-to-end responsibility from requirement capture, through project implementation, system integration testing, to handing over a solution ready for User Acceptance Testing by the respective BU Roll-out projects

The status reporting flow is Project Management -> Program Management -> Program Steering Group -> Project Executive Board and Project Portfolio Management.
