Our client has a requirement for a Project Manager/Program Manager located in Edmonton, Alberta.

About the role:
Program Managers will manage a portfolio of projects and related activities associated with understanding and addressing business requirements through project team(s) that will document business requirements, design, develop and deliver solutions that are compliant with and contribute to the Ministries' enterprise architecture.

The breadth of responsibilities associated with the Program Manager role span strategic planning, project definition, Program communication and providing leadership to project teams.

Project Managers will manage the day to day execution of one or more projects. Project Managers will conduct activities to plan, monitor, adjust and control the projects within constraints of budget, time, resources and technology. This ensures that the solution meets client requirements, and is delivered on time and within budget. It includes the management of development, testing, implementation and support of application software.

Project and Program Managers will report through and be supported by a Program/Project Management Office structure.

The Vendor's Resources submitted to supply the services associated with these roles require the following skills:

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

- Preparing and executing program and/or project plans.
- Establishing and operating control processes including schedule management, status reporting, issues, risk and change management at the program level.
- Closely monitoring project activities and taking corrective action to ensure project schedules are being met.
- Assigning work and managing project team members, mentoring and providing direction as required.
- Requirements Gathering
- Producing deliverables within specified quality standards.
- Escalating issues and risks, as appropriate.
- Communicating project status and issues, as appropriate.

Mandatory Experience/Skill Criteria:

- Experience working in a ICT environment - 8 years
- Experience using MS Project or other project management tool - 3 years

Desirable Experience/Skill Criteria:

- Experience with projects spanning the full systems development life cycle.
- Experience with project life cycle methodologies
- Experience in Requirements Gathering
- Experience working on multiple projects at one time
- Experience leading multi-million dollar projects
- Experience leading complex (multi-stakeholder and multi-technology) projects
- Experience leading projects that deliver solutions across multiple technical environments
- Demonstrated experience establishing and/or operating the following project control processes on multiple projects: schedule management, issue management, risk management, status reporting, change control, budget/effort management
- Experience with projects spanning multiple technical environments
- Experience with projects having aggressive project schedules
- Experience with risk and quality management processes
- Written and oral communication skills in a business environment using the English language
- Experience with modelling tools
- Experience with enterprise component projects
- Experience with PMI/PMBOK
- Experience leading Business Intelligence projects
- Experience leading application development projects
- Experience leading modern interactive website projects
- Experience leading infrastructure projects
- Experience with post-secondary education or education systems
- Experience with the GAEA enterprise architecture framework
- Experience with EAE's LIFe/LIMS enterprise architecture framework
- Experience with COBIT
- Experience with ITIL
