IT DEMAND ANALYST

The Demand Analyst is the business-facing point of contact for demand for our Banking Clients business areas and SRMs. They will act as the principal interface point for systems within their domain for all new demand, providing guidance for the business including early engagement to assess the change needs of the business. They ensure this IT change is managed through the agreed process and validate that the appropriate approvals are in place.

They will engage iteratively with the Heads of Technology to agree, plan and coordinate the allocation of resources to provide the required IT supply. In doing so, they will develop the correct balance between supply and demand, highlighting any potential conflicts.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

- Supporting the Digital Business Partner in the development of the Demand Management function for their domain, and influencing the design of demand management processes
- For their domain, embed the demand management model and governance for capturing all demand, resulting in a reduction of volatile IT demand from the business
- Drive the business relationship management model with the business, acting as the single point of contact and an advocate for the business in its interactions with IT and vice versa
- Implementing and operating a demand forecast model for their domain to support decision making within the business and planning within IT partners
- Provide guidance to the business, influencing their roadmap for change based on the demand and supply factors
- Maintain oversight of the mechanisms for forecasting demand with the strategic partners ensuring a model where scalability is easily achieved
- Drive prioritisation and mobilisation of new work/change requests, and coordination across the Heads of Technology to determine supply-side response to business IT demand
- Direct the processes for capturing IT demand from within the BCS organisation, balancing and prioritising this with business demand
- Managing competing priorities through negotiation with various stakeholders, escalating through relevant forums where necessary
- Supporting the measurement process for their domain ensuring that the processes are in place to track, measure and monitor IT demand and delivery of KPIs and report to Head of Solution Delivery, Heads of Technology, Master PMO and IT Performance Mgt function
- Embedding the partnership model with the business and continuously improve customer service and performance

MINIMUM CRITERIA:

- Seasoned professional with a broad knowledge of IT and a proven record of delivering solutions to meet customer's needs. Relevant IT third Level qualification and/or certification preferable
- Significant experience in managing large IT programmes of change
- Proven track record of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders with competing demands and in developing and maintaining communication channels
- Experience of indirect management - managing by influence as opposed to positional authority
- Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action
