Program Management Office (PMO) Director

My client is a respected Government organisation looking for a PMO Director to join their team for a long term contract starting February 2013.

The position holder will provide guidance, advice and coaching in project management to the Program/Project Managers and will monitor issues, risks, performance targets and deadlines in addition to quality standards and take appropriate remedial action if necessary. They will be responsible for the successful functioning of the PMO and escalate any major risks and issues to the General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

- Providing independent QA of deliverables and project processes and participating in formal program reviews and management reviews.
- Assesses regulatory requirements impacting projects within the portfolio as well as the project's compliance to these requirements as outlined within the charter.
- Monitoring significant program risks in conjunction with the Program Leadership Team.
- Extensive experience in managing in a Matrix organisation and coordinating program management office (PMO) activities for large programs which deliver major reform in a large customer focused business environment.
- Experience in working on multi-million dollar complex business transformation programs in a large organisation including multi-faceted business reform utilising SAP or similar software.
- High level knowledge and experience in designing and implementing program management office (PMO) processes and procedures based on program requirements, business objectives and OGC Prince 2 methodology.
- Proven successful staff management record including directing, coordinating, coaching, and reviewing and providing training to team members on using program management office (PMO) services to support execution and planning.
