Program Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This individual would need to interpret the needs of our IT Business Partners and apply industry design and management best practices for establishing a stable and efficient hosting platform. In addition, the selected candidate will also be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing new infrastructure solutions and processes that promote operational excellence and cost savings which align with hosting financial applications. Will be sitting with Oracle DBAs and helping them optimize the Oracle environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensuring that server, storage, and network needs are architected and managed for reliability, scalability and performance in environments with heavy Oracle use.
- Understanding industry standards and best practices for Oracle and data center hosting technologies.
- Keep current with industry trends and emerging technologies across the entire hosting infrastructure stack and Oracle ecosystem in order to recommend improvements and enhancements to existing and future environments.
- Heavy dependency on implementing solutions that drive cost down while reducing time to deploy and complexity.
- Interact with internal and external technical leaders to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of our financial application support teams with respect to availability, functionality, performance, reliability, repeatability, and scalability.
- Articulate and mediate tradeoffs related to scalability, manageability, testability, security, maintainability, usability, functionality, cost, and time. Establishes criteria for measuring these items in development and production as they relate to infrastructure components.
- Deliver and support designs that meet business requirements and the needs of our financial application support teams.
- Participate in development of architectural strategy, including technology standardization and modernization.
- Develop and support multi-year capability and technology road maps.
- Develop design standards and guidelines around referential infrastructure to support heavy Oracle use, and mentor others on best practices.
- Continually monitor and engage with internal and external consumers of our shared technology foundations.
- Align operational strategy with business objectives and architectural principles.
- Significant focus on managing and improving operational processes to continually improve operational excellence.
- Communicates well with team members to earn trust, persuade, motivate, and mentor
- Multi-task multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressured environment.

SKILLS:

MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with great attention to detail.
Extensive Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite; BI, DB, etc. on virtualized infrastructure (VMWare) with Linux.
Experience with automation and orchestration tools and concepts repeatable deployments.
Experience with Delphix and other storage/database virtualization solutions
Experience with design and support of high transaction, high availability platforms and solutions.
Database optimization
Rich experience with private and public cloud solutions and industry trends
Strong rapport and relationship building skills with both internal departments and external suppliers
Strong background on successful execution of ITIL disciplines to improve operational excellence. (Incident, Problem, Change, Escape Defect, Release Management)
Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
Able to take a creative approach to situations and problem solving.
Understanding of Compute, Storage, Network, and Virtualization in Global Data Centers.
Understanding of IT industry working practices/methodologies
Managing resources and services through an IT outsourcer (ITO)/Managed Service Provider (MSP)
24x7x365, must be willing to be available for out of hours work.
Need someone who is focused on Oracle and knows how data center infrastructure works with Oracle.
Need to have strong virtualization experience.
