PROGRAM DIRECTOR - 12 MONTH CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

My client a leading QLSD employer is looking for a Program Director to join their team on a long term contract basis. Reporting to the Executive Director the Program Director will be responsible for leading, managing and facilitating the delivery of the Program, ensuring high levels of performance and governance compliance in the planning, design and implementation of Payroll Program projects.

The main Program-specific duties of the Program Director are:

- Lead and manage the Program by providing strategic leadership, with a focus on

ensuring that projects: manage risks and issues effectively; achieve key project milestones; and deliver outputs/benefits in accordance with approved plans. This function will also include ensuring that resource utilisation, including using consultants where applicable, is strategic.
- Lead a Program-level (PMO/Program, Governance and Assurance) multi-disciplinary team.
- As a member of the Payroll Portfolio Management Team, contribute a Program

perspective to strategy and planning processes.
- Provide advice on strategic issues relating to Program governance, assurance and

delivery to the Executive Director, Payroll Portfolio, to the Senior Responsible Owner, to the Payroll Program Board and to other key stakeholders as required.
- Analyse project delivery options and viability, taking into account factors such as:

cost/benefit estimates; risk and assurance; economic projections; public interest issues; industrial relations; private sector interest; and any other key related matters.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:

- Proven ability to lead a major program of works for projects, governance and assurance, ideally in a payroll environment with an Information Management/Information and Communication Technology focus.
- Proven stakeholder relationship management skills to support effective business change, including the ability to initiate relationships and influence keystakeholders.
- Understanding and application of appropriate program and project management methodologies(preferably MSP, PRINCE2), and an ability to promote and provide advice on theuse of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools.
- Proven high level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex program/project environment.
- Proven experience in leading, managing and mentoring an effective multi-disciplinary team.
- Proven analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and a proven ability to working a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members.
