Program Coordinator

JOB DUTIES:

- The incumbent typically has significant prior project management experience and will require minimal supervision for all duties.
- He/she supports projects that have significant value and may be very complex in nature.
- The incumbent will provide facilitation for project teams, leading control meetings and chartering/planning sessions for medium to large projects.
- Incumbent may mentor more junior coordinators in the project management software tool, running control meeting, and with chartering/planning sessions.
- Maintains and improves processes for generating customer deliverables, which may involve significant post-processing and deep expertise in other software tools for portfolio resource management and/or program cost forecasting and tracking.
- Maintains accurate project schedules with little to no follow-up from the Program Management Supervisor.
- The incumbent captures project information, analyzes data from schedule updates (eg critical path), works with project team members to resolve logic errors, helps explain changes due to updates, and updates plan according to actions taken by the project team to resolve schedule problems.
- Creates report packages and communicates project status.
- Makes recommendations to the project team to resolve schedule and project cost issues.

SKILLS:

- This is a staff position that requires an excellent understanding of program and project management tools & processes.
- Exposure to engineering, or product development, or purchasing, or IT desired.
- Must have very strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills, strong meeting facilitation skills, and the ability to influence others without having authority.
- Must possess extensive knowledge of project management software (Primavera or MS Project), MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Web Publishing tools.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Associates degree with at least 2 years of project related experience
- Project Management experience in a project planning role using Critical Path Methodology (CPM) with a Project Scheduling Software Tool (eg, Primavera, MS Project)

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- Primavera experience
- Project Meeting Facilitation in corporate environment
- Work Experience (Product Development, Operations, 6-Sigma, etc.)
- Project Management Professional (PMP® or CAPM®) Certification
