Professional Linux System Specialist - Pharma - Switzerland

PROFESSIONAL LINUX SYSTEM SPECIALIST

is required to work on a project for a major pharmaceutical in Switzerland, perform Linux server Complex Migrations during DC Move project and provide the professional services required to cope with the extra load generated within the team.

MAIN TASKS IN THIS POSITION:

- The service should cover the technical preparation and execution tasks for the Linux server migrations categorized as Complex Migrations.
- The service should also cover all tasks related with the maintenance of Linux server components:
- Linux Server administration (Incident, Request, Change, Configuration and Problem management regarding any Linux server managed by Linux Operations group)
- 2nd Level support for Linux Servers managed by Linux Operations group

WORKING HOURS:

Complex Migrations are scheduled to happen biweekly on Saturdays (07:00 to 19:00 CET), so service would need to be available during those timeframes. As compensation, the following Monday would be free of service.

There are no additional special timetable specifications. As standard, it should cover the following:

- Working days: From 09:00 to 18:00 CET
- Official bank holidays: no need of service
- Weekends: no additional needs apart from the ones specified above
- Holidays: must be notified 15 days in advance and subject to Linux Operations group's needs to avoid any impact in the project plan and operations

Above specifications could need to be modified based on any exceptional need of the Linux Operations group. In this case, it will be notified and coordinated in advance.

YOUR PROFILE:

- Degree in IT Technologies or equivalent work experience with 3+ year of experience in Linux operations
- Technology Skills: Linux RHEL 5/6/RHCE; Linux LVM; RHEL Linux Cluster in SAN environment (active/stby, two node clusters)
- Experience configuring HP components (HP Proliant DL (DL380/580), Blade (BL460/660, C7000 with VC)
- Basic network knowledge
- Knowledge of ITIL as a model for Operations support
- Ability to work closely within small and virtual teams
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Fluent English language skills (written and spoken)
- Flexible working hours according to description (including weekend work)
- Mobility: Present Car, due to going to datacenter location
