PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIST

POSITION:

Production Technologist

REPORTS TO:

Production Technology Manager

Role:

To design safe, efficient and cost effective well completions and well tests in accordance with in house and Client objectives, policies and procedures, whilst complying with legislation and good oilfield practice.

DUTIES:

Completion Design

Design completions and well tests in compliance with the Management System by analysing appropriate data, generating and evaluating design options, assessing risk, preparing conceptual and detailed design documents, preparing independent examination submissions, preparing time and cost estimates, procuring services, equipment and materials, and coordinating suppliers and service providers to meet the Client objectives for completing, working over or testing the well. In addition provide technical quality assurance support to Well Services Engineers for software generated predictive programmes.

Operations Support

Furnish the rig team with technical and planning support to plan contingencies and resolve problems safely, efficiently and cost effectively.

Commercial Support

Provide technical support for pre- contract Invitation to Tender and tender evaluation processes, with subsequent technical support for the commercial contract drafting. In addition assist in the preparation of commercial proposals for client bids and estimates.

End of Well Reporting

Assist with the creation of reports for the client and legislative bodies by compiling operations information and performance analysis of as-installed completion and well test components.

Lessons Learned

Record lessons learned and analyze performance against detailed design to provide learning for the organization for future completion design considerations.

QHSE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Comply with, and assist team members to comply with, the Management System.

Make recommendations for improvement of the Management System.

PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIST

QUALIFICATIONS

University Degree / HND in an Engineering discipline

EXPERIENCE

Practical experience of well completion and workover techniques

Practical experience of sandface and upper completion design, including stimulation and artificial lift techniques

SOFTWARE SKILLS

Must be fully competent, as a minimum, in the use of:

Petroleum Experts Prosper Modeling

Landmark Wellcat Tubing Stress analysis Modeling

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

May be required to perform offshore supervisory roles
