Product Safety Engineer

Assisting the Technical Regulations and Standards (TRS) Engineer, Product Safety Engineer to meet the current high workload to get equipment CE marked and perform Product Safety risk assessments to internal procedure.

Product Safety
- Create Product Safety risk assessments for new products
- Perform HazOps for Product Safety cases
- Investigate Safety incidents using the SAFER risk assessment tool

CONTRACTOR IDEAL/SPECIAL EXPERIENCE:

Mandatory
- Good attention to technical detail in engineering documents
- Initiative to find extra details and information to fully complete documents and tasks
- Broad Engineering knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic systems
- Knowledge and experience of Risk assessment or FMEA or Root Cause Analysis processes
- Some experience of interpreting technical standards
- Some experience of technical authoring and/or document review especially Operation & Maintenance manuals
- High standard of written English
- High standard of general engineering knowledge
- Some experience of writing technical procedures and/or work instructions
- Basic Statistics & Mathematics (at or equivalent to A level)
- Able to travel internationally (occasionally) especially to the USA
- Able to manage own workload independently
- Good communications skills and personal confidence to investigate issues across all business functions and run small meetings to complete Risk assessments
- Good IT skills
