OUTSOURCE UK LTD are actively seeking to recruit a Product and Process Development Engineer for a contract role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
Product/Process Development Engineers to be part of a multi-discipline team involved in the development and optimisation of product designs and manufacturing processes in order to reduce overall product cost.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
The successful Product/Process Development Engineers candidate will be responsible for the following:
Product design, development, test and evaluation activities of munitions products
Cost analysis of concepts and proposed changes
Conducting and managing trials in a safe and suitable manner, from the trials planning stage to completion of the trial and presentation of the data
Development and use safe systems of work for Engineering tasks
Management of suppliers, both internal and external, to ensure that development activities are completed to time and schedule
Development of manufacturing processes and inspection techniques
Liaise with customers - both internal and external

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or similar
Manufacturing or Development experience in the Engineering industry
Proven ability to take ownership, prioritise and deliver projects to ensure completion within agreed time-scales and to required standard
Applicants must be self-motivated, able to demonstrate good planning and organisational skills, have good technical knowledge, show initiative and be able to work under pressure
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and tolerances
Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, together with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
