Product Owner/Agile Environment/Web & Mobile/$60-70 p/hr

We are seeking a Product Owner who will work with Scrum product development teams with the goal of defining an innovative, class-leading online travel product. You will be approachable and personable and have a passion for defining a product that is unique, breaks the traditional travel website and web mobile mould and delights the end-user. RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Authoring user stories and acceptance tests
- Collaborating with the development team on user story development
- Prioritizing the user story backlog to maximize business value
- To create/elucidate a vision that differentiates us from others in our industry
- Collaborating with several other product owners and executive leadership to define and maintain a consistent product vision
- Liaise with clients to understand business issues and capitalize on opportunities
- Effectively handle client requests without compromising the product vision
- Total focus on product definition: this is not a technical role nor a managerial role
- Market research, think about and be aware of the competition, but don't follow - maintain or create our own vision

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

- Great communication and collaboration skills, the majority of your time will be spent communicating business problems and vision to the team
- You will have worked with agile teams and have an understanding of the roles of the Product Owner and the team
- Strong understanding of the online domain and distribution trends, including mobile
- Experience successfully and diplomatically collaborating with development teams
- Open-minded to alternative approaches to defining business problems
- Open to negotiation with development teams and embracing great solutions regardless of who originates the idea
- Value focused - always considering the best value for the company and the customer
- Understand how to write user stories and their purpose
- You will be motivated by delighting the end user
- Though the role isn't technical, a basic understanding of agility would be advantageous
- You will have a mix of characteristics, being concerned with the outward view of delighting customers, yet with an inward business value driven focus of steering the team to build great products
