Our long standing client based in Brussels has just released an urgent need for a product owner to join the team.
Tasks and responsibilities
As a Product Owner, you will be your Squad's contact person for business. A Squad consists of several profiles, but forms one TEAM. Different projects, one goal, one mission!
You are responsible for stakeholder management, you keep contact with the concerned departments, you gather their needs and you translate them into the required stories. You are able to coach in an iterative and incremental way to create business value.
The Product Owner is therefore responsible for the following tasks:
You determine priorities together with the business and technical stakeholders and you have a decisive mandate within this story.
You are responsible for the translation of the business needs and user value to a working product.
You are Product Owner and manage the backlog from this position.
You function as a funnel: you collect the requirements, translate them to the Squad and determine the product strategy.
You manage the dependencies with other Squads, teams and suppliers.
You are responsible for safeguarding the mission together with the Squad and actively participate to the Chapters and Guilds.
You are responsible for delivering business value in a quick manner: this means avoiding the "Big Bang Syndrome" or the "Silver Bullet Syndrome".
Hard skills
A Product Owner at this media company needs to have the following skills:
Passion for and knowledge about data quality, data warehousing and big data technology
Experience with story writing, story slicing, product and story mapping
An Agile mindset experience with Scrum or other Agile/Lean methods
Soft skills
You can easily explain complex problems and solve them efficiently.
You have strong communication skills, understand the added value of open communication and like to take on an advising role.
You are passionate about analyses, pro-activity and thinking out-of-the-box.
You naturally aspire continuous improvement and increased quality and you think that short delivery times and delivering value are only normal.
You are willing to travel to the Netherlands and Denmark for your work.
Must be both Dutch & English speaking
