Product Owner

PRODUCT OWNER - SDLC - CPO

Our client, a telecom company, is looking for a PRODUCT OWNER to join their growing team. This role is based in their office near Amsterdam. This is the perfect role for a candidate with team working experience, good managing skills and experience within the telecommunications industry.

THE PRODUCT OWNER responsibilities will be:

- the day to day steering of one or more IT agile teams dedicated to online or OSS/BSS software development.
- The Product Owner is the representative for the product stakeholder(s) into the technical teams.
- He/she is responsible for ensuring the requests from stakeholders are translated into technical user stories, and that the stories are written and prioritized.
- The Product Owner works closely with other agile practitioners and scrum teams members to respond to day-to-day questions and queries, and accepts deliverables from the scrum team at the end of each sprint.
- Ensures that user stories are created in a manner that translates technical requirements into language understood by the scrum teams.
- Prioritizes the product backlog based on business value as defined by the stakeholders and overall return on investment. Negotiates with other business units and product owners to resolve any conflicts in prioritization and to meet requested delivery deadlines.
- Reviews and accepts of user stories demoed by the team at the end of each sprint and ensures that deliveries are of high quality.
- Partners with the scrum masters to ensure that deliveries from the scrum teams are not delayed by impediments.
- Coaches team members and business partners on agile best practices.
- Acts as the single point of contact for the business stakeholders towards the IT team(s).
- Attends all scrum ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint review/demo)

THE PRODUCT OWNER we are looking for must have:

- HBO/degree level or equivalent experience in software delivery.
- At least 5 years' experience in one or more aspects of Information Technology Deployment (business analysis, software design/development, IT architecture, project or pogramme management). Experience in the telecommunications, online or OSS/BSS domains a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of agile principles and value-based delivery; minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with agile, scrum or lean methodologies.
- Extensive experience with SDLC.
- Resilient, self-motivated and proactive and able to work with speed and accuracy to deadlines.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CPO) accreditation; or equivalent experience as a scrum Product Owner.
- Fluent English speaker, ideally other European languages.
