Product Development Engineer - Mechanical

Job Title: Product Development Engineer - Mechanical
Duration: 6 months starting ASAP
Location: Cambridgeshire
Rate: 28 - 32 per hour

During this 6 month contract you will work as a core member of a multidisciplinary team that design and develop versatile, leading edge products that are utilized in various industries including pharmaceutical, food, FMCG and high volume manufacturing.

Your role will be to work closely with the existing mechanical design team in order to ensure that products are functional, robust and optimized. You will take ownership of designing and building test rigs from loose specifications and discussions with the design team, running tests and distilling test data down into concise technical reports that suggest ways in which the system can be optimised.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

-Responsibility for optimisation of mechanical / electromechanical systems
-Developing test rigs from loose requirement specs to fully integrated control and data acquisition rigs
-Defining and performing tests, analysing data and forming conclusions in a technical report
- Having worked in Design Engineering roles in a development environment for domestic/commercial/light industrial equipment
-Validation and optimisation of complex electro-mechanical products
- Taking product to manufacture in low/medium volume
