Product Development Engineer - Gloucestershire This company operating in a highly regulated industry currently recruiting within its R&D department. With offices in theUK and US, they develop and manufacture innovative electro-mechanical devices and software. This role is based at their UKheadquarters in Gloucestershire and is the result of continued success, and sustained growth. The successful applicant will join a dedicated, established team of Engineers reporting to the Engineering Manager. This a great opportunity for candidates that have a genuine passion for engineering. You have the opportunity to be at the forefront of new product development for a niche product and play a key factor in the full lifecycle process and work with market leading advanced technologys. Primary Role: * To collaborate closely with colleagues to design, develop, test and document innovative electro-mechanical devices. Essential Skills * Knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle. * Generate supporting documentation e.g. requirements and design specifications, test plans and reports. * Risk Management including FMEA. * Design for Manufacture/Safety/Reliability. * Use of CAD software to generate 3D models and 2D drawings. Knowledge of SolidWorks would be of advantageous. * Ability to work hands-on including prototyping and testing. * To identify and interface with suppliers. Desirable Skills * Knowledge of pumps, would be beneficial. * Computational modeling e.g. Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). * Project Management experience. Personal Attributes * Ability to work alone or as part of a small multi-disciplinary team. * Advanced communication skills, particularly describing ideas verbally and writing clear documentation is essential. * Self-motivated and confident. * Strong logical problem solver. * Well organized. * Good attention to detail. Education * Design/Mechanical or related Engineering based degree. Experience * Proven track record in electro-mechanical product development. * A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role in a regulated / safety critical industry e.g. Aerospace, Automotive. * Experience of working in a quality/regulatory systems environment.
