Product Development Engineer (College Intern)

A number of  PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER (COLLEGE INTERN) positions are required for the Product Development Organization at Ireland site in Leixlip to be part of the exciting world of new product development for Thermal Inkjet Technology within the Personal and Printing Systems business. This exciting opportunity will enable the selected candidate to contribute to the design and delivery of new inkjet cartridge products for the consumer space and begin to build up their business and technical acumen.

The successful candidate will have a key role in the areas of testing and validating new designs as part of our active and future product and technology development programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Participate in the design, development, testing and delivery of technology solutions to enable successful product launches for new products
- Participating in root cause and problem solving of complex issues as part of the design process
- Compiling engineering reports on design work together with providing clear conclusions and recommendations both to peers, partners and stakeholders
- Develop new test procedures where required with the aim of capturing and resolving failures
- Testing of new product designs to ensure that they will function in a wide variety of diverse environmental conditions.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND CAPABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

- In the process of completing an ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, MATERIALS SCIENCE OR SCIENCE related degree
- Demonstrated statistics competency including DOE
- Ability to grasp new technologies and methodologies quickly
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving capability through college course work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic understanding of the concepts of product development
- Well organized with good multi-tasking capability
- Fluency in English
