Product Design Scientist

Projektbeschreibung

This is a research oriented position within an established product design group responsible for the development of global consumer healthcare products. The individual will work on a broad range of activities including prototype design, process scale-up/transfer to manufacturing sites and authoring documentation to support regulatory submissions. This position requires travelling in support of business needs at a level of up to 25%. The individual will be expected to aid in executing products research and to grow and develop skill in consumer & sensory products research methodologies and analysis.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

- Developing solid, semi-solid and liquid prototypes in the laboratory under the supervision of senior technical staff.
- Maintaining an accurate and up to date electronic laboratory notebook.
- Communicating data and conclusions in clear oral and written reports.
- Transferring process knowledge to and conducting scale-up experiments at manufacturing sites under supervision.
- Authoring documentation for regulatory submissions along with other records to support GMP requirements.
- Aid in consumer products research to help direct product design.

SKILLS:

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

- A basic understanding of experimental set-up, scientific methods and laboratory techniques.
- Proficiency in computer applications for research, data analysis, and report generation.
- Ability to form conclusions from data with guidance of a supervisor.
- Preferred candidates should also demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills and possess a high degree of learning agility.
- Preferred candidates should have a strong scientific background, an understanding of experimental set-up, scientific methods and laboratory techniques, be self motivated, demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills and possess a high degree of learning agility.
- Looking for candidates with some level of industrial experience. Need to have at least had an industrial internship. Prefer Chemistry degree over Biology degree.
- Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- The individual must be able to conduct laboratory experiments in a productive manner, utilizing appropriate tools, and with consistent quality output.
- The individual must also possess a high degree of empathy for consumers and have passion for developing optimal products/packaging that fit consumer needs and lifestyles.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- The position requires a BS degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biology or a related field of physical science with 0-2 years of experience in product development or equivalent work experience.
- The individual should have a good foundation in general scientific practice and in the principles and concepts of a science discipline.

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- Note the physical conditions in which work will be performed, if applicable to the position. Examples: Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, ability to travel, drive, unusual attendance requirements, weekend work or travel requirements, etc.
- The employee will be required to sit and work at a desk and computer, stand, walk and work in a laboratory.
- Work hours are typically first shift, but hours may vary as projects required.
