Product Design Engineer

I am currently recruiting for a Product Design Engineer to work for a client of mine based in East Sussex. Salary circa £30,000.

My client has been established for over 50 years and is a leader within their specialist area. They employ over 45 people and have 4 Mechanical Designers lead by a Product Design manager who this individual will be reporting to.

The role will require you to design injection moulded products. 90% of the time this will be with plastics. You will take full ownership of a particular project and be expected to design all the parts ensuring it can go into production.

To be considered for this role you should have experience in:

- Solidworks preferred or if not then Pro-E
- Designing products specifically for plastic injection moulding, thermoplastic materials and material specification, sheet metal fabrication and light assembly techniques.
- Ability to provide Engineering support to manufacturing department
- Ability to successfully run Engineering Projects including:-

Design of new products

Improvements / support of existing products

Meeting project timetables

Meeting project budgets

- Maintain all Engineering documentation in accordance with ISO 9001
