Product Controller - Equities Product Valuation

Main Responsibilities

Participating in the month end price verification process, particularly around the exotic equity products

Regular review and calibration of valuation adjustments methodologies

Development of price testing, valuation adjustment methodologies

Model appropriateness feedback

The role will involve regular liaison with Finance, Middle Office, Front Office Traders and Quants, as well as Risk Management.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

A good first university degree, preferably in a quantitative area (eg economics, mathematics, science), is essential. Industry experience in a price testing/valuations environment. A relevant post graduate qualification is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of derivatives pricing models and their relative characteristics, and their application to complex structured products. The candidate must show experience of how to approach pricing problems, and estimation of the effects of unobservable or illiquid valuation parameters, such as skew and correlation, and possess the necessary technical skills to prototype new procedures. The candidate must be able to communicate these concepts both verbally and via documentation, to colleagues, accountants, traders, quants and risk managers, and be able to defend or challenge their validity.

- Market data providers ie Bloomberg, Reuters, MarkIt.
- Familiarity with other asset classes, in particular interest rates and credit would be beneficial.
