Product Controller, Audit, Investment Banking

My client is looking for a product controller with a auditor control background. They are looking for someone to communicate good with the stakeholders within the business and be able to form new relationships. they also want someone with good understanding and experience within the Investment Banking industry.

PC Controls is part of the Finance Governance and Controls (G&C) Team, an independent team within Barclays Finance responsible for the overall Governance and Controls framework adopted by the function. The team oversees the design and implementation of the standard Finance controls and assesses the performance of these controls through self assessment, various MI reporting to senior management and independent testing carried out by the team. Periodically, the team will also perform control reviews on a deep dive basis.

Main Function
The team will work closely with the Product Control (PC) line in developing, coordinating, and monitoring of globally consistent control standards for all Product Control functions of the Investment Bank across different business lines.
In addition, the team will be responsible for coordinating existing control exceptions resolution, increasing the frequency of existing reconciliations and also be responsible for the build out and implementation of new controls. As these processes become established, a core set of ongoing responsibilities will replace initial clean up and process build out.

Main Duties
* Assist in ongoing assessment of the existing financial operating environment with specific focus on Book Governance, identify areas of potential control weakness and bring forth forward thinking ideas to create a more robust control framework.
* Co-ordinate action plans within PC line teams to improve control processesmonitor progress toward remediation. This will involve working closely with various PC line teams, as well as IT, Operations, and others.
